MY DETAILS

What is my Customer Number and where do I find it?

Your customer number is the account number assigned to you when you joined Magshop. It is 12 numbers long starting with 0000 and does not include any letters. You can find it on the cover sheet that comes with your magazine, above your name and address - like this.

Can I change my password?

Yes, you can. To change your password simply log into 'My Account' at the top of the site, select 'Change Password' on the left hand side of the page, and follow the prompts - don't forget to hit the 'Save' button.

How do I change my address?

To change your address simply log into 'My Account' at the top of the site, select 'Contact Information' on the left hand side of the page, and follow the prompts - don't forget to hit the 'Save' button.

How do I get a Magshop Account?

If you are a new customer can create a Magshop account during your purchase on site. If you are a returning customer, please register your account using your Customer Number that can be found at the top of your address on your latest Magazine delivery. If you aren't sure if you have an account with us, attempt a password reset using your email address. If you have an account with us already using that email, you will be able to complete the password reset process enclosed in the email you will have received.

I am receiving your newsletters via email, how do I discontinue these?

If you wish to unsubscribe from any of our newsletters, simply click the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of the email. Alternatively, please contact us and we will ensure your details are removed.

I have forgotten my Password, how do I get it resent?

ORDERING

If I order a subscription today, what issue will I receive?

New print subscriptions receive the next available issue from the publisher, which will not be the issue currently on sale in retail stores. A delivery timeline guide for this is provided on each product page and it will vary based on the frequency that the product is printed.

Each publication applies a certain cut-off date of which determines how many magazine copies are to be printed for subscribers and retailers of a particular issue. Your first issue delivered will depend on what part of this cycle your order is placed and processed.

Details regarding your first issue and the expected delivery date can be ascertained by simply logging in to the My Account section of Magshop 24hrs after placing your order. If your subscription is not listed here, you can contact the publisher of the title whose details are provided on your Order Receipt email.

New digital subscriptions will receive the current issue, available straight away to download once you have signed in to the title's app.

Can I order a subscription as a gift?

Yes. To gift a subscription select 'Gift Recipient' for the items in your cart that you are gifting to another. The address form will change for you to supply your gift recipient's details.

To help us in the event of any incidents of your gift, including the email and/or telephone number is the fastest way for us to contact them regarding their gift. During some site wide promotions, all gift recipients can also be eligible to win and these details help us to contact them to confirm they have won.

How can I notify a gift recipient of a subscription?

Once you have completed your purchase, you will see the 'Create an eCard' section at the bottom of your confirmation screen. Simply click this and complete the form to send an eCard to your gift recipient by email – you can even schedule the date for them to receive it!

How can I pay for my subscription?

Magshop accepts the following methods of payment for all print subscriptions, books and merchandise:

How do I know my order has been successful?

On successful completion of your order you will receive a confirmation of your order to the email address you nominated at the start of your purchase onsite. This email will contain your order number and details of your purchase. If you order a digital product, it will contain the instructions for downloading your products.

How long should I expect to wait to receive an e-mail acknowledging that my order was successful?

Your order confirmation email should arrive within ten minutes of completing your order online. If you do not receive anything after this time, please contact us for assistance.

I can't pick a specific title, am I able to purchase a gift voucher/card?

Yes. Magshop eVouchers are perfect for the hard to buy for or last minute gifts. Available in $30, $50, $75, $100, $200 or $500 denominations, your gift recipient can then choose from over 600 titles.

Delivery is all taken care of - once you've completed your purchase you will see the 'Create an eCard' section at the bottom of your confirmation screen to click, enter their email address and a short message and we'll generate an eCard that they will receive in their inbox. You can select a date for them to receive it or send it straight away.

I would like to purchase magazines as Christmas gifts. I want the first issue to be received to come after Christmas. How do I arrange this, or when do I need to subscribe?

Magshop activates their delivery delay option in October for customers purchasing print subscriptions.

Once you have chosen your titles, select 'Gift Recipient' for the items in your cart that you are gifting to another. The address form will change for you to supply your gift recipient's details.

To have their subscription start after Christmas, select 'first issue after Christmas' from the delivery date options. Selecting 'next available issue' will start their subscription immediately.

Unfortunately, due to the immediate fulfilment nature of digital subscriptions, Magshop cannot activate delivery delay for these items.

I would like to purchase multiple, separate subscriptions, all different magazines and for different people. How do I arrange this?

Once you have chosen your titles, select 'Gift Recipient' for the items in your cart that you are gifting to another. The address form will change for you to supply your gift recipient's details.

If you are ordering multiple copies of the same titles to the same person and address, you can update the quantity in your cart for that title and only need to enter their details once.

TRANSFERS, RENEWALS & CANCELLATIONS

Can I renew my subscriptions, if so how?

To renew your subscription, log in to your Magshop account and follow the prompts – you'll save time and have any available renewal discounts applied for you. If you prefer, you can simply select the title on site and process your order through Guest Checkout, however you must ensure that your details match those from the initial order.

I received a renewal notice in the mail but I've already renewed my subscription, do I need to do anything?

No. If you have already renewed your subscription, please discard the renewal notice you received.

Can I unsubscribe/cancel my subscriptions?

For subscriptions purchased and managed through Magshop, refunds will be given on the unused portion of your subscription. No refunds are available for merchandise however, faulty goods can be exchanged.

What do I do if I already receive the title I have received/given?

If you or your gift recipient already receives this title, by default it will extend the current subscription with the new subscription (e.g. Combine two 12 month subscriptions to make a 24 month subscription).

FREE GIFTS & PROMOTIONAL ITEMS

I got my magazine today but the gift that was available in-store is not attached. Why is this?

In some cases, the promotional "tip on" gifts are only available within store copies – these are generally exclusive promotions with selected retailers. Subscribers receive magazine subscriptions at a reduced rate, receive free delivery anywhere in Australia, and often receive a promotional gift at the beginning of their subscription, if available at the time of your order.

My subscription includes a free gift. Who will it be sent to and when?

If a free gift applies to your subscription order, this item will be sent to you at the end of the promotion. It will always arrive in a separate parcel to the magazine and in the timeframe outlined in the terms and conditions for this promotion.

Unless otherwise stated in the terms and conditions of the promotion, the free gift will be sent to the biller's address who will receive the same quantity of gifts as subscriptions purchased during that promotion for the included titles.

Can you check to see if my friend is a subscriber before purchasing a gift?

Due to our privacy policy, we are unable to confirm this for you. If you purchase a subscription for a friend who is already subscribed, their gift subscription will extend their current subscription.

How do I create an eCard in the Checkout?

Once you have completed your purchase, you will see the 'Create an eCard' section at the bottom of your confirmation screen. Simply click this and complete the form to send an eCard to your gift recipient by email – you can even schedule the date for them to receive it!

I forgot to create an eCard when purchasing my Order, How can I get one once the order has been placed?

Unfortunately at this time, Magshop are unable to provide an alternative eCard once your purchase is complete. Your confirmation email will contain your gift eVoucher details, which you can then forward in your own custom email to your recipient.

My eCard was not received, how do I resend?

Please contact us and we will resend your eCard to the email address you specified during its creation.

Please Note: Sometimes these emails can be filtered to Junk/Spam folders in recipient inboxes, so please check there if you cannot locate it.

I have received a gift card or voucher, how do I use it?

Once in the checkout process, Select the 'Redeem a gift eVoucher' located directly below the Cart Summary. Enter your eVoucher ID and PIN and apply to your order. You will see the eVoucher deduct from the total amount of your cart. If your order total is greater than the eVoucher applied, then the balance owing will need to be paid by credit card or PayPal. You may apply up to 3 vouchers to one order.

Please Note: Magshop eVouchers cannot be used to purchase digital products or subscriptions requesting "automatic renewal" as this is an on-going payment plan. In this instance, please select an alternative price point.

I ordered a cookbook/map/book/back issue. How long will it take to be delivered?

Magshop processes your order to the publisher once payment has been completed and they will dispatch your product as soon as possible. This may take up to 28 working days, and is dependent upon stock availability. Where available, Magshop provides as much delivery information as possible, if you wish to check the progress of your order please contact us.

PRINT DELIVERY

Can I use a PO box for billing and receiving magazines?

Yes, Magshop accepts PO Boxes for billing and delivery addresses for magazines.

Does Magshop offer international delivery?

Yes. Titles that have International Delivery available will display an 'International pricing inclusive of delivery' button underneath the Australian delivery pricing. To view the pricing simply click the button. All pricing is presented and charged in Australian Dollars and include delivery.

How discreetly are the adult magazines delivered?

Adult Magazines are delivered with utmost discretion in unmarked envelopes by mail.

How is my subscription delivered?

Magazines are delivered by Australia Post, to your street address or PO box along with all other mail.

How long do I have to wait for my first issue to arrive?

The arrival time for your magazine is dependent on the frequency of distribution. Magshop processes your order to your title publishers once payment has been completed and the next issue dispatched will then be the first for your subscription. The industry standard delivery times are:

  • For weekly publications please allow up to two to four weeks for your first delivery.
  • For monthly publications please allow up to four to six weeks for your first delivery.
  • For bi-monthly publications please allow up to six to eight weeks for your first delivery.
  • For quarterly publications please allow up to ten to twelve weeks for your first delivery.
  • For international delivery please allow up to ten to twelve weeks for your first delivery.

How much does Magshop charge for shipping/postage?

All subscription pricing listed on Magshop include postage and handling charges.

My magazine hasn't arrived this week/month, what do I do?

If your magazine hasn't arrived or you think it may be running late please contact the publisher of the magazine listed on your confirmation email. If you are unable to find your confirmation email, please contact us and we will assist.

Where are the magazines sent from?

Each publisher is responsible for the fulfilment of their respective magazines. Publishers specialise in delivering magazines efficiently meaning that they will distribute from locations Australia wide.

INTERNATIONAL PRINT ORDERS

Are international orders sent airmail or surface mail?

The delivery method for international orders is at the discretion of the publisher of the title. Please contact the publisher of the magazine listed on your confirmation email. If you are unable to find your confirmation email, please contact us and we will assist.

How do I organise for a magazine to be delivered to my country?

My issue won't download: what am I doing wrong?

this could be due to a number of things. Here are some tips for download related difficulties:

  • Always have sufficient storage space on your device for the download.
  • Always use WiFi - not 3G - and check the connection is good.
  • We recommend not to attempt downloads over the phone network, especially if you're abroad - your phone bill could go up significantly!
  • Don't try to download more than one magazine at any one time.
  • Don't close the app during download, as this will stop it completing.

The app is asking me to pay again, but I've already paid! Help!

Occasionally this can happen - usually when you've just installed a major update. In this scenario, please:

  1. Stop the app running. To do this, double tap the 'O' command button quickly on your device. All the apps that are running should appear on the screen.
  2. Swipe upwards on the app's content to stop it running.
  3. Reboot your device.
  4. Go to you iPad/iPhone Settings > iTunes and App Store > Ensure that you are logged in using your original Apple ID.
  5. Go back into the app.
  6. Tap the button in the very top left corner of the app.
  7. Tap 'Restore all purchases'.
  8. If you purchased your subscription through Magshop, ensure that you have entered your Magshop login details into the 'Magshop login' section of the app's menu.

If you are logged in with the correct iTunes account and/or Magshop account, all the editions you have purchased should be unlocked. You may have to download them again.

If this doesn't work, please contact us and a customer service representative should get back to you within 48 hours.

My magazine has disappeared from the library: what has gone wrong?

Have you clicked out of the library into a catalogue? Tap on the menu button at the top left of the app and go to the 'Library' button - this will bring up a view of all of the magazines in the app.

I have purchased or been gifted a digital subscription through Magshop but I am unsure of my login details

You should have received an order confirmation to the email address that your Magshop subscription was registered to. If you are logging in for the first time, please reset your Magshop password before attempting to log in to your app. If you are unsure of your password at anytime, please visit the password recovery page on the Magshop website.

Will I have to re-download ALL my previously downloaded back issues?

As the app has been fully updated and transitioned to a new platform, all back issues will need to be restored and then re-downloaded if desired. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We would advise that you download all previously purchased issues via a Wi-Fi connection to avoid steep data charges from your mobile provider, and to also connect your device to a power source during the bulk download to avoid the device from turning off.

How do I make sure I don't incur additional data usage costs on my phone network?

Firstly, only ever download the magazine using a good WiFi connection. Never attempt to download or read digital editions of your magazine over a mobile phone network – this could incur additional costs from your network supplier, especially if you are overseas.

Secondly, always make sure you follow this procedure:

  1. Once you have paid for your issue, or have access to it if you're a subscriber, tap the 'Load' button
  2. To read the edition, please then tap 'Open'

Once downloaded onto your device, you will not incur any additional costs – as long as you tap the 'Open' button to read the magazine. You'll also be able to read the edition offline and in aeroplane mode this way.

The pages are taking ages to appear. Why?

Please check that you have downloaded your magazine and are not streaming it. Once downloaded on your device, the pages should appear quickly and the text should render fast.

To ensure you've downloaded and are not streaming your digital magazine, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the issue(s) you want to read
  2. Tap 'Download'
  3. When downloaded, a button will appear that says 'Read'
  4. Please tap the 'Read' button to read it, do not tap the cover.
I've downloaded my magazine, but why are the pages still blurry and taking so long to load?

To optimise your reading experience, please allow the issue to 'Download' COMPLETELY before opening the magazine. Opening the magazine before the issue finishes downloading will switch the reading mode to 'Streaming', which will force the issue to load page by page. Once the magazine has completely finished downloading, you can either read the magazine both online and offline.

Can I stream digital editions of my magazine without downloading?

Yes you can. To do this, please:

  1. Purchase the magazine, or ensure you have access to it if you're a subscriber
  2. Tap the large cover in the storefront
  3. You will then be streaming the magazine via WiFi, or your mobile network

Please Note: If you stream your digital magazine via a mobile network, you may well incur additional costs or reach your capped data limit quickly. Please speak with your network supplier to find out your data allowance and how much you are liable to be charged for streaming over the 3 or 4G networks.

We would recommend that you only stream your digital editions via a secure WiFi network.

Important: to ensure you are not streaming, always tap 'Download' to download your edition and the 'Read' button to read it. Do so using a secure WiFi network.

It appears I can't read offline – why not?

It could be because you are attempting to stream your magazine.

This app does allow you to read offline. But you MUST download your issues to your device first – ideally over a secure WiFi network. So if you're going on holiday, or on a plane, before you leave make sure you have downloaded issues you want to read onto your device first, using your WiFi at home.

To do this, please carefully follow these steps:

  1. Select the issue(s) you want to read
  2. Tap 'Download'
  3. When downloaded, a button will appear that says 'Read'
  4. Please tap to read it – you will be able to do so offline

Do not attempt to stream or download your magazine over a mobile phone network. Doing so may well incur extra data usage costs and you may be charged by your network supplier.

How can I purchase an issue using my iTunes account?

You have two options of purchase: you can either subscribe for a period of time or you can buy a single issue.

To subscribe to receive every new issue of the magazine as it goes on sale, tap on the menu button at the top left of the app and tap on the 'iTunes Subscriptions' button. Select the subcription option you'd like and tap the relevant button on the right. You'll then get a note from Apple asking you to confirm your purchase. As long as you are logged into your iTunes account on your device at this stage, the payment will be taken. You will then be able to read the latest issue on sale by tapping the 'Load' button below the cover in the Library.

To buy a single issue, select the issue you'd like and tap the 'Buy' button below the cover. You'll then get a note from Apple asking you to confirm your purchase. As long as you are logged into your iTunes account on your device at this stage, the payment will be taken. You will the be able to tap the 'Load' button to download and read the issue.

If I buy a digital subscription, when will it start?

As soon as your subscription has been confirmed, you should be able to access the current issue on sale. From that point forward, you'll receive all new issues within your subscription period.

How can I manage my Apple Newsstand subscription?

You can manage your Apple Newsstand subscription here – it's Apple's troubleshooting page. If you want to change the settings on your subscription, or cancel an auto-renew payment, advice on how to do it can be found there.

Please be aware that if you subscribe, Apple automatically configures an auto-renew payment, so when that subscription period expires you'll be charged again. However they will warn you prior to this happening and give you the chance to cancel if you wish to. If you want to opt out of the auto-renew option, log into your iTunes account here - and select the relevant settings.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Easy! You can either do it through your iTunes account, or on your device. For the latter:

  1. Tap 'Settings' on your iPad.
  2. iTunes and App Store.
  3. Tap 'Apple ID'.
  4. Under the subscriptions section tap 'Manage'.
  5. You will see a list of your current and expired subscriptions. Use this to turn off your automatic renewal.
  6. Tap 'Deactivate' and 'OK'.

How do I get a refund in the event of a billing problem?

All transactions made on Apple Newsstand or iTunes are handled by Apple. Because Apple is a third-party partner company of ours, and your purchase is made through your account with them, Bauer Media cannot refund or check any personal subscription/single issue purchase details made on the Apple Newsstand or iTunes.

We hope that this won't happen, but should you be experiencing billing problems, or if you wish to claim a refund, Bauer will most probably be unable to help you. We therefore advise you get in touch with Apple directly. Here are some useful links that might help:

What devices and operating systems does this app work with?

We recommend using iOS8 or later, and iPads 2 and iPhones 4 or later.

The print magazine has a cover-mounted gift on it – do I get the same if I buy that edition on the Apple Newsstand?

Any kind of physical gift attached to the front cover of a print magazine cannot be offered to purchasers of the digital edition of that same issue – even if a free gift is advertised on the cover in the digital edition.

How do I add a bookmark?

This is a great tool for referring back to articles later.

  1. Open the issue to the page you'd like to bookmark.
  2. Tap on the menu icon at the top left of the app.
  3. Tap on the 'Bookmarks' button.
  4. This will bring up a list of all bookmarks. You can tap on the '+ Bookmarks' button at the top left to add a bookmark for the page you are on.

I've read through the FAQs but I'm still having trouble with the app. What should I do?

Once downloaded onto your device, you will not incur any additional costs – as long as you tap the 'Open' button to read the magazine. You'll also be able to read the edition offline and in aeroplane mode this way.

The pages are taking ages to appear. Why?

Please check that you have downloaded your magazine and are not streaming it. Once downloaded on your device, the pages should appear quickly and the text should render fast.

To ensure you've downloaded and are not streaming your digital magazine, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the issue(s) you want to read
  2. Tap 'Download'
  3. When downloaded, a button will appear that says 'Read'
  4. Please tap the 'Read' button to read it, do not tap the cover.

I've downloaded my magazine, but why are the pages still blurry and taking so long to load?

To optimise your reading experience, please allow the issue to 'Download' COMPLETELY before opening the magazine. Opening the magazine before the issue finishes downloading will switch the reading mode to 'Streaming', which will force the issue to load page by page. Once the magazine has completely finished downloading, you can either read the magazine both online and offline.

Can I stream digital editions of my magazine without downloading?

Yes you can. To do this, please:

  1. Purchase the magazine, or ensure you have access to it if you're a subscriber
  2. Tap the large cover in the storefront
  3. You will then be streaming the magazine via WiFi, or your mobile network

Please Note: If you stream your digital magazine via a mobile network, you may well incur additional costs or reach your capped data limit quickly. Please speak with your network supplier to find out your data allowance and how much you are liable to be charged for streaming over the 3 or 4G networks.

We would recommend that you only stream your digital editions via a secure WiFi network.

Important: to ensure you are not streaming, always tap 'Download' to download your edition and the 'Read' button to read it. Do so using a secure WiFi network.

It appears I can't read offline – why not?

It could be because you are attempting to stream your magazine.

This app does allow you to read offline. But you MUST download your issues to your device first – ideally over a secure WiFi network. So if you're going on holiday, or on a plane, before you leave make sure you have downloaded issues you want to read onto your device first, using your WiFi at home.

To do this, please carefully follow these steps:

  1. Select the issue(s) you want to read
  2. Tap 'Download'
  3. When downloaded, a button will appear that says 'Read'
  4. Please tap to read it – you will be able to do so offline

Do not attempt to stream or download your magazine over a mobile phone network. Doing so may well incur extra data usage costs and you may be charged by your network supplier.

How can I purchase an issue using my Google Play account?

You have two options of purchase: you can either subscribe for a period of time or you can buy a single issue.

To subscribe to receive every new issue of the magazine as it goes on sale, tap on the menu button at the top left of the app and tap on the 'Google Subscriptions' button. Select the subcription option you'd like and tap the relevant button on the right. You'll then get a note from Google asking you to confirm your purchase. As long as you are logged into your Google Play account on your device at this stage, the payment will be taken. You will then be able to read the latest issue on sale by tapping the 'Load' button below the cover in the Library.

To buy a single issue, select the issue you'd like and tap the 'Buy' button below the cover. You'll then get a note from Google asking you to confirm your purchase. As long as you are logged into your Google Play account on your device at this stage, the payment will be taken. You will the be able to tap the 'Load' button to download and read the issue.

If I buy a digital subscription, when will it start?

As soon as your subscription has been confirmed, you should be able to access the current issue on sale. From that point forward, you'll receive all new issues within your subscription period.

How can I manage my Google subscription?

You can manage your Google Play subscription here – it's Google Play's troubleshooting page. If you want to change the settings on your subscription, or cancel an auto-renew payment, advice on how to do it can be found there.

Please be aware that if you subscribe, Google automatically configures an auto-renew payment, so when that subscription period expires you'll be charged again. However they will warn you prior to this happening and give you the chance to cancel if you wish to. If you want to opt out of the auto-renew option, log into your Google Play account here - and select the relevant settings.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Easy! You can either do it through your Google Play account, or on your device. For the latter:

  1. Open the Play Store app on your tablet.
  2. Tap on the menu icon at the top left, go to 'My apps & games'.
  3. You will see a list of your subscriptions to the left of the installed apps list.
  4. Select the subscription you would like to cancel, tap the 'Cancel' button.
  5. You will be asked to confirm the cancellation, tap 'Yes'.

How do I get a refund in the event of a billing problem?

All transactions made on Google Play store are handled by Google. Because Google is a third-party partner company of ours, and your purchase is made through your account with them, Bauer Media cannot refund or check any personal subscription/single issue purchase details made on the Google Play store.

We hope that this won't happen, but should you be experiencing billing problems, or if you wish to claim a refund, Bauer will most probably be unable to help you. We therefore advise you get in touch with Google directly. Here are some useful links that might help:

What devices and operating systems does this app work with?

The app should work on all Android devices, phones and tablets, such as Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Motorola, LG and so on. It may not work on the Kindle Fire, and it will not work on the Nook. We recommend you use the latest 2 OS main versions which should be 7.x.x and 6.x.x.

The print magazine has a cover-mounted gift on it – do I get the same if I buy that edition on the Google Play Newsstand?

Any kind of physical gift attached to the front cover of a print magazine cannot be offered to purchasers of the digital edition of that same issue – even if a free gift is advertised on the cover in the digital edition.

How do I add a bookmark?

This is a great tool for referring back to articles later.

  1. Open the issue to the page you'd like to bookmark.
  2. Tap on the menu icon at the top left of the app.
  3. Tap on the 'Bookmarks' button.
  4. This will bring up a list of all bookmarks. You can tap on the '+ Bookmarks' button at the top left to add a bookmark for the page you are on.

I've read through the FAQs but I'm still having trouble with the app. What should I do?
